Not All Realeased Beatles Song’s Reached the Top 10
Not All Realeased Beatles Song’s Reached the Top 10, sorry. Some barely reached the Top 40. Yeah It’s true.. Being a super fan of The Beatles, I was surprised too.
Although I’m not sure if this is true… If there’s some super Beatles historian who stumble upon this blog, please comment..
Here’s what I read from “The Beatles Anecdotes”
“Thank You Girl” entered the Top 40 on 25 April 1964 and stayed for three weeks, reaching # 35.
“I Don’t Want to Spoil the Party” on stayed in the Top 40 for one week in late March 1965. The song reached # 39.
Believe it or not, “Baby You’re A Rich Man” only reached the # 34 position! It entered the Top 40 on 12 August 1967 and only stayed for two weeks.
It is a compelling testimony to The Beatles that only three of their numerous songs from 1964-1970 were in the bottom quarter of the coveted Top 40.

Considering that none of those songs were “A-sides” – the side of a single that was intended as the ‘major’ song, that’s not a big deal. If this is the only list of released single songs that *didn’t* make it in to the top 10, that’s even more amazing. The notion of a ‘top 40′ chart, and how those charts are calculated, has changed dramatically in the past 40 years, so a) their achievement will likely never be duplicated and b) it’s weird to think that “b-sides” would “chart” independantly of the “a-sides”.
Specifically, “thank you girl” even making it that high is a bit amazing, considering that was the height of the initial US Beatle-mania period. April 64 they had *12* songs in the top 100, and held the top 5 positions at the same time. They didn’t even *have* that many songs out to begin with (2 albums and a few singles – 30+ released tracks perhaps?).
